So when will we see the original and the best movie in the series, Highlander on Blu-Ray? Give me all the extras and lossless audio. Give me a good transfer too!!! This movie will be awesome on Blu-Ray don't you think? Who agrees???

How awesome would it be to see the sword fight at the Silvercup on Blu-Ray? How awesome would it be to see the training between Ramirez and Connor on Blu-Ray? Very cool...

i thought this would make a better analogy for the format war. in the end there can be only 1.

Since Anchor Bay/Starz owns Highlander, and they just went Blu, I'll bet you it's one that'll come sooner rather than later

However, don't expect it to look that great. It's low budget, 20 years old, and even the well mastered DVDs haven't looked that great

Uncompressed soundtrack should be a treat tho.

Highlander would be great if they did the transfer justice. Part of why the SD DVD versions all suck is because the xfer is terrible, particularly with the audio. I mean, it is BAD. I have seen TV broadcasts that look better.

The scene I'd be most interested in is the flashback scene where Connor first encounters the Kurgan ("when the McLeod's fought the Fraziers"). That, and the training sequences with Ramirez... the mountains, the coast, the horses, the forest... imagine all that detail! And the Queen soundtrack in lossless audio would make my speakers weep in joy.

But we can forget all about the other movies. Only "Endgame" was decent... but it was barely canon. The other 2 were embarrassing.

I agree. Highlander rocked, the rest were garbage.
Though I think TV series were decent.

Good to know others agree with me that the original Highlander movie is the best. The other 3 just don't fit the original story. But hey capitalism it's a good thing...

I agree hearing the Queen and the Michael Kamen scores will be sweet in lossless audio format. There can be only one! It's better to burn out than to fade away! Don't lose your head! The new movie doesn't even have any proper flashbacks

The TV series was shot on 16mm, and mastered analog. According to Adrian Paul, the new DVDs actually look better than the master quality tapes he has so I'd say there's no point to putting it on Blu

The quality would be excellent if they did a 4K scan and then mastered it at a high bit rate using MPEG-4/AVC with PCM sound track on a 50GB disc.
This movie is a classic to many. Might as well release all 4 Highlanders. Of course the first one was the best.
