Default Reference Level

When you set your reference at 75db do you reset you're volume to 0db's (not sure if there is a way to do this) so you know where you're reference level is or do you just remember where the volume is in relation to 75db's?

I know for my 805, 0.0db is 75db with the speakers level adjusted to match that output at that volume. If you calibrate at 85db, my relative gain would be +10db for reference. Not sure there is a way to reset the 0.0db mark though.

When I still was using a Denon 3300, I first set the volume control to "0" then adjusted the channel trims to 75dB using a SPL Meter. Now I have an 805 and it sets the levels automatically as Audiofile_At_Birth mentioned.

So basically you are saying you have to know what you're volume (db's) are at when you set you're speakers at a reference of 75db? Another words, when I set my reference to 75db and lets say my volume will say -12db, then -12db would be my reference level?

Yes, but why dont you just setup your receiver at 0.0db? let 0.0db be your refernce, so you know when your volume says -12.0db you are going to be -12 below reference.
