Default Ridiculous gift sets

I noticed in the wizard of oz blu-ray set you get a free wizard of oz watch.Do they seriously think people are gonna wear that? Maybe if you're a girl under 10.

Some of the gift sets arent very well thought out. While the special packaging may have the advantage over the regular Blu case, the what nots they include usually dont do much for me. I have a huge list of things Id like to see in gift sets..... a Wizard of Oz watch is no where close to being on it. The coffee table book is a nice addition to a classic film, I just dont understand the watch.

Just give me the movie at a reasonable price. I'm not interested in all the extra fluff.

This all came from the unexpected success of the Blade Runner briefcase set. After that Warner think that everyone wants all major releases to the same and don't realize that people only want special packaging on that scale when it is particularly appropriate or that the special packaging adds something special as opposed to being over-sized and largely unwanted garbage.

Looks like it will take a few Casablancas to stop their folly.

Star Wars black case came before Bladerunner's. A very nice set containing books, art, scripts bonus features not on any other release. Shame it was on video. Love to see this set for Blu as DVD did not get the attention it needed.

I love my Blade Runner briefcase. I do agree that the watch is a little unnecessary with Oz. I might throw it on ebay.

You can count me out on the gift sets. I just want the movie. The only special editions/gift sets I ever buy is when they come with an extended version of the movie that's not otherwise available.

I'll buy them is they look cool, I guess. I have the LotR stuff from the box sets and the Batpod from TDK. Not sure what I would do with a watch.

Some people do buy them, if you do not want to ...don't.
I have grabbed some, some I have avoided.
Some dvd got that I wish blu got too (Nightmare Before Christmas I am talking to you!).
The bottom line is, for every one thing that you do not like there are five people that do.
Same for me, same for anyone else.

I like it when the packaging fit's in with the film, one of my favorites is the gold and red Irom Man mask blu-ray Target Exclusive and my old Repo Man DVD in licence plate tin from Anchor Bay. Even though they are DVD's some of my favorites are the turf slipcover for "Major League",the icepick pen/block of ice packaging for"Basic Instinct",the "Total Recal" tin,and the "T-bird" jacket with "Grease"!

+! Like I said before,I'm all for unique packaging but that one its a bit too much, I looks like it should be delivered in a Domino's "Heatwave" bag! Plus some kid somewhere will try to eat them pizza looking blu-ray discs!

Still the coolest (and creepiest) gift set ever. I had no intention of buying it until Amazon dropped the price to $58.99 one day. Very glad I picked it up.
