Anyone else find it odd that the "year" is Aug to July? Anyways, I really hope InFamous or KZ2 grab the game of the year. The hosts of X-Play both said InFamous was the game of the year, but they might've meant 2009, rather than the "year" of these awards.

I expect either inFamous or Dead Space to win the best Action game category.

I suspect Left for Dead 2 will inch out both Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2 for best shooter.

No opinion on the sports games since I don't really play any of them, but Tiger Woods '10 with Wii Motion Plus support might have enough extra mojo to pull out a win there.

Fallout 3 is the only sane choice for best RPG.

I won't even hazard a guess at game of the year - those are always unpredictable.

I think fallout 3 gets game of the year

Yeah they did say infamous was game of the year. i thought they meant alongside upcoming games like uncharted 22, modern warfare... i guess not.

How come there isn't Fifa 09 in the sports game

As much as I want Killzone 2 and inFAMOUS to win, I think Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead will clean up.

I think inFAMOUS won for best action game. Fallout 3 cleaned up for everything it was nominated for.

i culd care less about 'awards'
i like what i like and some game winning a videogame channel award show will NOT entice me to buy or rent that game.

The g-phoria awards are fan votes, so don't expect the PS3 to do well regardless of whether it should or not. Regardless of anything else there are more 360/Wii voters than PS3 voters by a long shot.

As a result it was a foregone conclusion that MGS4 had no shot to beat Halo 3 as game of the year in 2008's show. I won't argue the merits of the decision other than to say that MGS4 had no chance with a larger 360 voting audience.
