Canada Broken Watchmen Blu-ray

Is anyone else experiencing skipping their blu-ray versions of watchmen at around 25:46 mins into the movie? I got my copy at the Futureshop here in Canada.

Player:
PS3 with the latest firmware.
Regular without the steel case...it was 2 bucks more and I didn't see the difference.

I had the same problem with my Watchmen Blu-ray that I had with my copy of Star Trek Season One. After the first chapter, the disc skips back to near the beginning and replays that chapter. I also couldn't get the Full Movie Mode to play...I just got rotating gear graphics for ten minutes until I ejected the disc.

I hope Warner Brothers will address this issue VERY SOON! Oh, and the audio was off too.

Default I'm skipping back too

I have a Samsung BD1600. I'm seeing a skipping problem too. The image freezes momentarily and then skips backwards. It happened 4 times on the initial viewing. Each time in a different place. Each time it played fine the second time through.

What blu-ray players are seeing this problem - is is specific to Samsung?

Default Answer from Samsung technical support

Samsung technical support says this is a known problem with all blu-ray players and will require a firmware release. There is no estimated date for this firmware release.

So far Watchmen is the only affected title.

Default same problem with Magnavox player

Yeah - the movie plays just fine (the audio does seem slightly off, though) - but the maximum movie mode won't play for more than a couple minutes at a time without freezing.

Default skipping Watchman Director cut

So, My directors cut blu-ray at three locations suddenly jumps back 1-5 chapters. Using the Samsung BD-P1590C (costco version) plugged HDMI directly to the Toshiba 50HP66 plasma. Noticed a couple time where dialoged mistracked as well, especially in the war room.

I dove into Blu-ray for this movie. Haven't bought another movie yet. Don't know if this is a disc issue or player issue. Looks like its a player problem from previous posts.

Is there probable solution (i did upgrade the Firmware to the latest Samsung Release)?

No not all... I have a Sony BDP-S350 & haven't had any issues. Mind you I haven't tried the Watchmen disc (which I hear is causing issues for many, especially in LG players).

Same problem here... brand new blu ray player... brand new blu ray disk... Latest firmware... looks like a wasted 300 bucks. You'd think they have the bugs worked out by now. Took me a year to jump to the blu ray... not it looks like I'll use the netflix but gonna be slow at wasting money on blu ray disks that may or may not work...

Well, returned the samsung and picked up the sony.

So far it has worked flawlessly and Watchmen looked great, Green Lantern was fun, and now halfway through Dollhouse.

Much happy!
