I just wanted to know if someone here has the Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard. I wanted to get an idea of how fast the rewards are accumulated with this card. Do you use it for all your bills? Can any of you give me an estimate of rewards zone money you accumulate monthly?
I am trying to convince my wife to let me apply for this one and close our stupid Alaska Airlines card. We get charged an annual fee and it seems like I have to spend a million bucks to get a free flight now. They keep raising the mileage points. I just tell her it would make my hobby a little bit cheaper! ![]() Thanks for your help! |

my gf has one and uses it only for paying rent. i believe she has ~150.00 in RWZ money right now and its been like 10-11 rent payments. i wouldn't get it just for the RWZ though but in our case we are getting free money towards something at bestbuy for just paying rent.

I have the Canadian version which is a VISA. I pay off what I spend at the end of every period, so I try not to collect a balance. I've only had it for a few weeks, and I got the bonus $10 they offered, plus an extra $5 already. And if you use it at BestBuy, you get double points. I like having a credit card, and I'm not one for travel points, so this rewards program works for me.

i have one, and i dont believe it has an annual fee, i signed up when i bought my TV, i only use it for purchases at best buy though, so i dont accumulate a lot of rewards points, but it does add up faster than the regular reward zone card, and occasionally, they will have times where you get even triple points on purchases, but i would say i probably get about $100 a year in rewards certificates, and thats using the card lightly

I use mine for EVERYTHING except Sony stuff. I have a Sony card for that. Ironically, or stupidly I guess, mine gets most of it's electronics use at Frys. Anyway, I gain $20-40 most months. I am sitting on $245 worth now, but the sales have stunk and new BDs have been $5 cheaper at Frys, so I just keep accumulating the points.

I would bet that like most credit cards..... the terms would vary based on your credit rating. I know that when my wife first got out of bankruptcy about a decade ago (changes to medicare reimbursements caused her salary to be cut by more than 50%) she had an annual fee from the same CC company that I did not have a fee with.

As for Annual Fee, I have none on mine. I don't know if that is standard or just because I signed up when they first offered it. |

Think about it: we all know Best Buy is overpriced. For what you'd potentially save by using this card, you could probably buy the same item for less online (like Amazon). Read this and listen to this if you want to know why you will never win financially by using borrowed money. |

I can still buy stuff at Amazon while gaining points BB points. For me it was a no brainer. I do think if you cant limit yourself on what you spend you should not have a credit card though. |

Might be a bit late for my opinion, but I definitely recommend the card. I was approved for the BB Gold mastercard (not sure what the difference is, probably spending limit) and haven't had any problems. I've been using it for about a year and a half now.
I'm a silver premiere member but it still only takes 30 days to get your rewards. It seems they haven't adjusted/updated their system to incorporate the 45-day policy yet, because whenever I take advantage of it (new releases seem to drop down in price in just under 45 days after release, so I come back to price match) customer service has problems bypassing the 30-day policy with my receipt (which I usually never even have to bring in). Also, if you really want to accurately incorporate your rewards into your spending, all reward certificates deduct from the subtotal, therefore they count as the given amount + tax. For example, a $10 reward certificate counts as $10 + tax. |
