Default Spider-Man 1 & 2; Blu-ray only?

May 4th 2007 Spiderman 3 is released in theaters nationwide

October 1st 2007 Spiderman 3 is released on BLU-RAY in a Super Bit version. The first BLU-RAY Superbit 50GB MPEG-3/AVC movie utilizing a high bit rate digital transfer process that optimizes video quality with an outstanding PCM sound track. This version would contain no extras, just a 50GB disc filled up with the entire Spiderman 3 movie.

November 1st 2007 Spiderman 3 is released on the DVD format.

Sony Pictures could easily sale many more BLU-Ray players and movies if select BLU-Ray movies like Spiderman 3 were released on home video 30 days before it arrives on DVD. There are millions of BLU-Ray PS3 devices on the market and more would be sold if consumers could purchase select hit movies 30 days early.

Is spiderman 1 &2 going to be only Blu-Ray?

Yep, only Blu-Ray, as well as the majority of this year's other potential uber-blockbusters.

I'd like to see all 3 in a pack as well as each film sold seperately.

Default No need for Superbit Blu Rays

I think Superbit 50 gig Blu Rays are a stupid idea because they are big enough to get great video and audio and have all the extras on them. I think the best we can hope for is have Spiderman 3 spread across 2 disks. The only reason Columbia/Sony put out Superbit DVD was to give you better video and audio, you can not get better than uncompressed PCM thats why its UNCOMPRESSED is infront of the PCM

They are never going to do the "Blu-Ray early" thing

The closest we ever got to that was the DVD coming out the same day as the rental priced VHS. Which by the way resulted in huge consumer confusion. We had a lot of people coming in and going "I see you have the movie on CD*sic* but I want to buy the tape", and then having to explain rental pricing to them. A similar situation would come with this, and would result in far more pissed off customers than new sales for BR.

All their millions in marketing is targeted at one single date, because next week they're promoting something else. it's innefficient use of time and money.

And Pirates are Superbit philosophy already. Just the movie on the disc, maxed bitrates.
