Default Need help deciding on HT as startup

Hi I have been a reading through the boards for quite a while now and have been planning on getting a reciever and speakers to enjoy lossless audio. Well right now i don't have much starting with a Sony 32" 1080i TV and 80GB PS3 mainly bought for movies and a 2 year old 5.1 Sony HTiB without optical inputs that came with the TV (so i cant even enjoy 5.1 lossy with it).

Now for the problems ive faced. Being here in the Philippines I could not enjoy shopping online for better deals even with the additional cost for the shipping. My budget is starting at about $1000 and slowly add.

For the avr options i have here are a HTiB again which i dont want to go with that route anymore. After a few months of looking around here the only available items to choose for me are Pioneer vsx819 rep said will check for 1019 and availability and price, HK avr155 & 255, Onkyo 506 i think, Denon not sure which model tho and Marantz 4003 & 5003 did not get the price for the 5003. I was leaning towards the Marantz 4003 which would cost approximately 600 USD. Would i be able to utilize lpcm audio even though its HDMI is only at 1.1?

Now for speakers my old HTiB are using 3 ohm speakers so i cant utilize them while trying to piece up a decent 5.1 setup. Brands that are available to me are Klipsch Polk Jamo JBL Mission. I auditioned them and pretty much looking forward to Klipsch and Polks as a close second not even wanting to hear the sales rep for the JBLs as he gave me somewhere around 1200 usd for the tower and center. I was planning on getting 2 towers first then add up center then sub then monitors route or should i go with center and monitors first which would be a bit cheaper route on the initial cashout.

HT room is pretty small for now 10x12. Trying to keep it within budget or not so far from it else the Head Boss of the house might think of ways of killing me slowly for insurance money . Sorry for the long post and thanks.

If you can go with the Marantz SR-5003, it does the new codecs and has enough power for your size of room , and speakers go with the Klipsch and just add on slowly, it will be an aesome setup when you finish , and the sound will blow you away, hope this helps,

Sadly just got the price for the 5003 and it costs approximately 1100 USDollar which would blow my budget. By the way all prices mentioned are Philippine peso converted to USD. For speakers should i get towers first or center and monitors first then move the monitors back as i acquire the floorstanders?

I started with Bookshelves first and then moved them for surround duty, when I was ready to buy Floorstanders. So yeah, nothing wrong with doing that.

since you have a ps3 for your BD player, you will be fine with the marantz 4003. Of all the receivers you listed, that would be the best one with your budget.

Thank you for the replies i guess im pretty much settled for the sr4003. I was wondering if i could use our very old pioneer speakers model CS-772. These things has huge subs and i am wondering how this would sound with the eq. has anyone here tried using old component speakers with recent recievers? If that would work will just be getting center and monitors for the meanwhile. Pretty much set on klipsch just trying to get to work around the budget.
