Question Rambo Reloaded Edition

So what is the reloaded edition? I've heard its coming out sometime in August. Anyone know anything about it, is it the directors cut that Sly was talking about?

I looked around and it looks like "Rambo: Reloaded" is just the home video release title in some places for the 2-disc DVD or Blu-ray . It has already been released in some places from what I can tell.

You got me a little excited though as that is what I have been waiting for, a directer's cut of Rambo.

A directors cut would be pretty cool. Even MORE violence?

Will it even sell?

I work for an online store, and we also have an ebay store and the Rambo movies do not sell at all. I think we sent them all to ebay and have them listed at $2.99 and they still haven't sold.

well, they'll sell at least one. I've actually been wanting to see a director's cut of Rambo ever since Sly was on Leno talking about it when it first came out.

I was watching the extras today on Rambo and Sly and the editor Sean say that what your watching is already the director's cut. Don't know if that is true or not though.

Same here; I've been tempted so many times to buy the current BD as it is awesome and has been at good prices but I'm waiting for that cut. I heard it was going to be caled "John Rambo" like IV was originally going to be.

Almost every Director cut or extended cut that I have seen of movies are suprerior even if only slightly. Plus, newer editions tend to have more extras in my experience.

Did you really think there wasn't going to be double dips with Blu-Ray?

I believe Stallone had said he wanted to release an "uncut" edition. The film was cut down to receive an "R" rating, his first cut was too violent for the "R" rating by the MPAA. When I watched it, I was surprised the theatrical version received an "R", it was pretty violent on it's own. However, things change, and perhaps he won't release a newer version of Rambo and be content with what was released.

I was hoping First Blood would have received a slightly better transfer to Blu-ray, and some more extras, but overall, for $9.99, I can't complain.

I am perfectly fine with the current edition of Rambo. Extras are interesting, movie is great. Don't need to buy another edition.

Have you guys watched the PiP commentary on the Rambo disc? I finally got around to watching it last weekend and it's really informative. Stallone talks a lot about deleted scenes, casting, etc. It also branches out to a pleathura of interview and behind the scenes stuff not on the regular extra features docs.

The commentary's on Rambo are really good. Stallone knows what he's doing. As he gets older he seems to have developed more humility somehow.

Rambo probably doesn't sell well on Blu because (apart from the latest movie), they aren't actually very good Blu-Rays. "Average" would be a fair comment on their quality. Poor sound, average picture, and limited extras.
I'm sure there will be better versions released in the not too distant future. I'd wager some kind of re-release to tie in with "The Expendables" perhaps....?
Look how many box sets and versions there were on DVD! Companys don't do that kind of thing if they're not popular movies.

True, we may see some sort of tie-in with Expendables, maybe even a "buy a Stallone title on Blu-ray, get a free movie cash coupon to see "The Expendables" in theaters, but we may even see a deluxe edition of First Blood, etc. Probably a long shot at best though....
