I'd THOUGHT they'd officially retired the label, and then only brought the name back as an excuse to release the two Zorro seasons.

Hope I'm wrong, but seem to remember Maltin saying something to that effect.

Get in line--In terms of fan-petitions, there's already a mile-long line each waiting for the complete Jiminy Cricket educational shorts, and a "Welcome to WDW" companion to the Disneyland USA set, and consultant Maltin knows it, but it's not his decision to make.

i noticed later releases had significantly smaller runs. Disney shot themselves in the foot a bit with this range when they started putting the same things on different sets. The worst offenders being 'The Complete Pluto' sets, where it was supposed to be akin to the Goofy set, but the greedy gits decided to split the cartoons across 2 different releases and pad them out with cartoons from other characters', and already on their sets, in which Pluto appears.

There were a lot of complaints and sales started dropping at about the same time

I have all of the sets I really wanted. I would get both Zorro sets but I find them expensive.

In place of the actual homegrown Disney Treasures, this year Disney is taking charge of the three indie behind-the-scenes documentaries--Waking Sleeping Beauty, The Boys, and Walt & El Grupo--and marketing them as "Legacy Documentaries" (as they did with Frank & Ollie), timed to the Disney Treasures time of year:

They're good, so I hear, but I'd rather have the Treasures--As the Treasures would usually dig some rare archival film out of the vault like the Disneyland Opening or Walt's Epcot film, but now they're pitching that toward the D23 crowd.
