Default Panasonic DMP-BD60 or BD80

So my PS3 decided to take a dump on me one day. It doesn't play BD's anymore and I don't want to pay the money to get it fixed. So I'm just going to spend a little extra money to get a blu-ray player. I just want to know on some opinions on which one I should go with.

The Panasonic DMP-BD60 or The Panasonic DMP-BD80?

Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

Do you need 7.1 analog audio out or digital coax audio out? If so, then the BD80 is your player. Other than that, they are pretty much the exact same.

the pansasonic 80 also does the playback info like bitrate and stuff. I had the 60 but then upgraded to the 80.

great player.

The question you have to ask yourself assuming you do not need the analog outs is, is that worth $100 more. If it's yes then get it but honestly it's unnecessary stuff. Why would you care what the bitrate is. I know I absolutely do not.

To be honest I don't think I need a 7.1 audio. I don't have surround sound (as of now) but I do have a Panasonic Plasma if that helps any.

Thanks for all the replies.

got to ask, i see the 80 plays divx. is the playback improved from previous players/recorders? I have a 250gb Panny Recorder that plays Divx, but they dont play back in the correct aspect ratio (16:9 divx, 4:3 play fine), they come out squashed, and i have to change the TV to 'Cinema' to stretch it out to make it look right.

Hmm...Well I have the original 4-usb PS3 (if that matters) The Divx seems to play fine. All of the ones I've used are in widescreen so I haven't witnesed any full screen ones. I've tried it on my 50" Plasma and they don't seem to be stretched out or anything (unless I change the format settings on my TV remote). I've also tried it on my standard TV quite a few times as well. Don't really know what to tell you, but is the format of your TV off?

Haha! I'm sorry. I was thinking you were talking about an 80gig PS3 because I have one, yet we are discussing the DMP80. lol. I'm sorry man.
