Default OT: how to get rid of my DVDs?

I'm have replaced up to 10 of my DVDs with BDs by now.
I want to sell I was wondering how to best do that, as a lot or individual, use ebay or craigslist etc. Mostly popcorn action flicks.

I think the resell value is very low so I am not expecting alot. Maybe someone has similar experience?

Probably easier to sell them as a bundle.

I've found that my local used music retailer to be a pretty good option. Do not expect much in return.

you could just give them to friends and say "I do not need these because i got them on Blu-ray" just to show how much better you are.

J/K, yeah do not expect much I would either craigeslist them, amazon or trade them in at fye for credit towards new movies?

I usually get rid of mine on dvdplanet.com. Return isn't much, and it's store credit, but the turnaround is pretty quick and I'm usually getting new BD's with the money anyway, so credit doesn't matter. Some people use secondspin.com with some success. Never tried there.

I've been giving mine away to my family. My dvd rack is pretty full so when I get more blu's I take out x amount of dvds so the blu's fit and just give the dvd's to who ever wants them. Free up space for me and free movies for them.

I'm using eBay and this is just a small fraction of my standard dvd collection I've listed so far. I have plenty more to list or trade somewhere if they don't all sell.

http://shop.ebay.com/bidderwars/m.ht..._from=&_ipg=25

As you can see, I have a lot of dvds still factory sealed and no one's biting!
Just the way it is I guess.

I think DVD lots sell much better on EBAY. That's how I've been getting rid of my DVDs.

based on the resale values of DVDs I am not even sure if it's worth it after the insertion fee? How much is it to list the DVD at 99 cents?

You could donate your used DVD's to the troops over seas. Type in "dvd's for troops" on your search engine... and several sites should show up.

I don't think the fee for .99 is that much. I always start all my auctions at that price.

DVD on Ebay don't worth anything unless you have some rare DVD or OOP Criterion... otherwise don't bother with it. Some store will buy them and you'll have more money than on Ebay.

Should I keep or sell my VHS of Night of the Creep (Blu-ray) and Phantasm II (DVD)?\
I usually take mine to Zia Records for store credit.

I just give mine to my sister in law, she moved out and I gave her like 200 dvds. So now every time I upgrade one it just goes to her.

I had a garage sale and sold most for $2.50-3.00 and sold several hundred. Of course, I turned around and spent the money on blu. Advertise the garage sale and mention DVD's and people go nutty.
