I have completed the Blu-ray Community Top 20 Films of the years 2000-2009. So how does the list work? The participating users came up with a list of their 20 top films released in the 2000's. Based on how they placed on their list, they would be awarded a number of points. Point scoring system as followed:
1. 15 Points 2. 14 Points 3. 13 Points 4. 12 Points 5. 11 Points 6. 10 Points .... 12. 4 Points 13. 3 Points 14. 2 Points 15-20. 1 Point You can view the original thread here: The Blu-ray.Com Community Top 20 Films of the 2000's (Please Read First Post) I'll unveil the list like this: 30-21 (Runners-Up) 20-17 16-13 12-9 8-6 5-3 2-1 I would like to thank those who participated and I'll waste no further time and get started. The first set will be up very soon... Last edited by MarkJ801; 03-15-2011 at 04:14 AM. |

By the way, there were 290 films nominated! The rest of the results will be up tomorrow.
It sucks that Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine and Pan's Labyrinth didn't make the list. Especially Donnie Darko, as it's my favorite movie of all time. |

Right on Mark! You’ve put some work into this and it shows.
Just in the 1st lil bit I see a couple movies that are well regarded, so I gotta make a point of seeing them. And following this thread for more recommendations. ![]() |

Ugh... How in the hell did I miss this?
![]() Some great picks so far. Wall-e, Almost Famous, and Mulholland Dr. are amazing movies. ![]() I'm surprised Pan's Labyrinth and Eternal Sunshine missed the cut. Donnie Darko, Zodiac, and Children of Men were pretty good as well. |

So far all fantastic films, very shocked to see Pan's Labyrinth miss out, I had that in my Top 20 (Also had Wall-e and Oldboy in there)
I think Two Towers is the weakest LotR movie, fave being Return of the King. Love Star Trek and Children of Men as well, like Batman Begins. |

I only got 4:
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (#1) The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (#3) The Prestige (#4) Gladiator (#5) I had three of the runner-ups: Star Trek (#6) Zodiac (#14) Batman Begins (#17) I knew at least 6 of my 20 automatically would not be on the list. I'm surprised stuff like Minority Report and Kingdom of Heaven didn't even make runner-up though ![]() Didn't think No Country would be quite so high. |

i admit that Gladiator isnt anything groundbreaking storywise but Ridley Scott really knows how to bring world to life and i think Gladiator is a great example. beautiful photography, an excellent score, and some of the best fight scenes ever captured on film. i was tempted to put Kingdom of Heaven on my list for all the same reasons but it didnt place above anything else i had on my list. it was close though.
