I only like half the list but then I don't like artsy fartsy movies that much, Jason. I don't like Wall-E either.

These are my favorites out of that list:

14. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

These were okay:

9. Amélie (2001)
8. Wall-E (2008)

The rest I either didn't see or am apathetic towards.

(There's also a bit of cheating going on with that list. The new millennium starts with 2001, not 2000.)

City of God, Amelie, and Memento would be my top 3 out of that list. Spirited Away would also be higher if it was my list.

I've only seen 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8. This is going to draw a lot of backlash, but I don't think TDK should be in the number one position. Let the beatings begin.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen should have at least been in the top 3.

I enjoy Memento being on the list, may have to pick that on BD if I see it cheap somewhere.

It's good so we'll just have to agree to disagree. It is definitely over-rated though.

It's a nice list, Pianist is probably my favourite. Departed otoh, well, Scorsese didn't deserve the Oscar for it, and it definitely shouldn't have won best picture against Little Miss Sunshine. I suppose he was getting old and they needed to give it to him at some point...

I've meant to watch Amelie and Requiem, but I didn't even know about City of God.

good list, but TDK does not belong at #1, just glancing over the other 14 and that is obvious. TDK is a good film, and i'm sure brought in the most box office $$, but many of the other films on that list are far superior movies IMO.

also: Where is Pan's Labrynth? This list can't exist without it, and it belongs at #1.

And just to clarify, I'm not saying it's not a good movie. It's an excellent movie, but to put it at the top of the list of best movies of the millennium is a bit of a stretch IMO.

Apparently the Academy thought there were at least five better movies in 2008 as well. I agree with the 'not the best movie of the millenium' comment.
