A constant source of frustration. The last handful of blu ray players (different models) have worked perfectly for like 6 months, then randomly start spattering a bunch of little greasy oil bits on the discs (my last one dumped major grease on one disc before I stopped using it).. It looks like dust but if you wipe them with microfiber cloths they smear. Problem is after the smears are wiped they reappear as lighter little bits on the disc. Is there any way to avoid this crap from showing up? I only insert clean discs and have a dehumidifier in the basement. Trying to think of ways to prevent it. I own an LG bd550 region-free 3d capable. I had a Sony one awhile back that did the same thing. DVDs don’t get the spatter for some reason.
