I've been purchasing regular Hollywood DVDs and BR in Japan for quite some time. Japanese and English dialogue for the most part always match, but why are the Japanese captions always different from the Japanese dialogue?
Very frustrating for someone like me who uses movies to study Japanese. I want to listen to and read the same dialogue with Japanese kanji captions but they're almost always different. It's like a completely different person is involved. Thankfully the dialogue is correct. Captions are correct in grammar but are far from the native interpretation. Why don't they just make the Japanese captions from the Japanese dialogue. very odd indeed. Anyone know why? Thanks |
