Requiem For A Dream!

Finally watched this movie, as Ive had it for over a month on blu. I got it for 10.00 at BB as well. Never seen it but heard good things about. Very impressed with Marlon Wayans acting outside the norm for him. The whole cast did a good job. And wow didnt know J. Connelly did a role like that. Wowzers... Very good film. Now I see what the talk was all about. I try to tell people Marlon is a good actor but I see alot of people place him in a box because of most the movies he do. The guy is talented. I would recommend this film. Thoughts?? Got Em!!

He's done a similar thing Brad Dourif did to himself early in their careers. Everyone remembers Brad as Chucky but does anyone remember him for his oscar worthy performance in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest? He was flipping fantastic in that and then he never really followed up with it.

Or another actor is Chris Evans, has anyone seen him in Sunshine? He's terrific for a majority of that year he was my choice of best supporting actor and he never followed through. Now he's doing crappy romance movies or I have no idea. It's like these actors try one dramatic turn and then they don't win any awards and they give up.

i was shocked at the end of this the first time i watched it, its really hard to watch at times, but such a great movie, dont have it on blu, but thinking about ordering it, since amazon has it at 9.99 right now

Brad Dourif continues to do good work, but he's always very "hidden." He was Wormtongue in LOTR and he played a character named Doc Cochran on the show Deadwood. Unbelievable actor.

It's funny how the last shot also is the same as the one at the end of Dark City and also in one other Jennifer Connelly movie. It's like directors have this thing for her and piers or something.

Great film and I think Marlon will pull off Richard Pryor well.

A depressing story about the lives of addicts. Excellent film IMO.

Everyone should see at least once for Ellen Burstyn's performance. The whole cast is good but her especially.

Requiem is a masterful film! So powerful yet so real. All the performances are top notch. My favorite work by this filmmaker and in my top 20 films all time!!

what i got from it was of course the danger of drug addiction, but even more: how it doesn't discriminate and can target anyone, thus making stereotypes meaningless.
