Default Starchaser: Legend of Orin (1985)

You guys remember this movie right? Well I went ahead and bought a DVD version to replace my old VHS. This should mean that a bluray will come our way soon right?

I saw this in 3D - which would be awesome if they could release a 3D version on blruay. That said, I think MGM still owns the rights.
[Show spoiler]

So now that the DVD will be at my house tomorrow, a bluray announcement will soon follow. You can thank me later.

That's awesome - I didn't know it was in 3D originally...I have the DVD too - pretty violent for a kid's animated film!

Don't count on this coming to Blu ray anytime soon... Enjoy the upconverted DVD.

I used to think like that, but with all the cult titles released who knows. At this point, I think anything is fair game.

Exactly. MGM released Troll 2...granted it's more popular than Starchaser, but I hope they will take notice to this animated classic.

btw...I got the DVD for 6 bucks, a few amazon sellers still have some copies left, it seems it may be going OOP.

...So, Starchaser's got a cult documentary coming out?
(People, seriously: Are we going to hear this for the next FIVE YEARS every time there's a cult-movie request? Are we, yes or no?)

And while MGM snapped up the rights like their other Orion vacuum-cleaner of 80's indie-release B-distributor catalogues and Avco/Golan-Globus titles, it's not a catalog that much sees the light of day beyond download or mass-catalogue SD, unless there's a (ahemcheaptiein )--
Tell that to someone waiting for "Powaqqatsi", "Masters of the Universe" and fellow Atlantic Pictures release "Nutcracker:TMP", also languishing in MGM's Orion B-salvage basement.
