Transformers is gonna be insane on blu-ray. The special effects are incredible. They did Optimus and the autobots justice. This movie is the best popcorn flick i have seen in awhile. GO SEE IT

I'm so jealous right now that I can't think straight. But from seeing the trailers you're right the Blu-Ray is going to be crazy.

Funny, because none of them look or sound anything like what they're supposed to (except Optimus, who only after much fighting was allowed to retain a semblence of his original shape and Peter Cullen)

Doing it justice would be getting everyone who's still alive, and everyone looks like they should, and all surviving voice actors back.

Michael Bay just dismissed the designs out of hand. "ddin't look real", because he never tried to add detail and just went off and did his own crap

Sorry I disagree. The way they acted and the way Optimus lead the team was just like the old show. You are too damn picky and need to stop crying. To be fair, Michael Bay let all of the original voices audition. Some of there voiced had changed too much (20 years ago for christ sake). It was good bottom line, I felt like a kid again.

Ok, I have to respond....

It's bad enough I have to put up with people so stuck on TF:G1 cartoons that they can't accept the new looks/sounds for the live-action movie, now I have to see it here?

WickyWoo,

First, the producers wanted to have no "mass-shifting" effects for this movie, and I say good on them. How retarded would it look if Megatron went from a handgun to a 30 foot robot in a live action feature, or Frenzy changing from a casette tape to a 6 foot robot?

Speaking of Frenzy... you actually WANT him to be a cassette tape in 2007? A CD player makes so much more sense. Ratchet (H2 Hummer) and Ironhide (Topkick 3/4 ton pick up) were originally vans in the cartoon. I don't know what model and make, but they kinda look like one my dad owned back in 1989... you really want them to retain that model for a 2007 movie?

Prime. If they retained his original cab over engine Semi form, he would have been about 15 feet tall according to the producers. By making him a Peterbilt, they nearly doubled...

Default part 2...

sorry, typing on a PS3. Buffer size isn't that big.

They nearly doubled Prime's height by making him a Peterbilt.

Bumblebee isn't a Volkswagon Beetle primarily because the produces could not get permission from Volkswagon. The company that provided the tanks and other vehicles for the Nazi's in WWII apparently didn't want one of their vehicles being featured as a "warrior machine"... Ironic really. Ditto for Jazz not being a Porsche.

Since the TF's in the film get to choose their shape apparently, why would Starscream want to be an F-15 Eagle (which is still a fine fighter btw) when he could choose to become a state of the art F-22 Raptor?

Seriously, this is a Transformers movie for 2007, not 1986. If I want to watch the Transformers in their former glory, I'll watch the animated movie. I'm tired of the "They don't look like their supposed to,.. Megatron should be a gun..." complaints.

Ok... rant done.

And to the OP... I hate you... lol. I wanna see this movie so bad!

Yeah it would have been cheezy seeing them as 80's vehicles.
Though if soundwave is in the movie, instead of being a cassette player, he can transform into a blu-ray player

I know people say you cannot beat the theater experience, but for some reason I don't really care to go to the movies these days. The only thing I get excited about is knowing it will becoming available on dvd, or preferably Blu ray.

If there's no theater that is good as yours, then don't go. But if there are, do. You can have a standing ovation all by your lonesome.

Not just the lack of VW support, it's that a certain automobile company paid alot of money for product placement on the autobots... Alot of money .

I don't mind that at all. It's better for the producers to get branded companies to pay for onscreen time than to either feature something that the companies do not want them to do (VW) or constantly feature a product for a company freely (which of course didn't happen). Really, I've seen worst product placement in movies before.
