Question about DACs and a cd player

Hey all, I've got a quick question or two about using the Wolfson Dacs of the Pioneer Elite 07 with as little processing as possible. I recently (today) received a pioneer elite pd-f27 301 disc changer and hooked it up with analog cables to the cd inputs of my 07.

Now i realize that by having it hooked up with the analogs on the cd player and running it to the 07 as pure direct I am using the cd players DACs. My question is this. If I hooked a digital coax cable to the cd player to a coax input of the 07 and sent the signal as PCM from the cd player to the receiver, will I actually be using the receivers DACs?
