DVDs with thx optimizer - Blu-ray Forum

Hey all! Not sure if this is the right spot for this one, but I have heard most dvds that were mastered in THX have some kind of optimizer on them, is this true? If so how do you access it? Thanks!

dvds like star wars and pixar movies have it in the special features or settings.. not too many places to hide on a dvd..

Most of the time it will be found in the Sound or Audio options page. There is a code on Sony discs, but I cannot remember it right now. I think its the word SONY on a keypad.

You can also find the THX optimizer on Blu-ray movies like Terminator 2 for example. That's what i used as a starting point for my tv and it worked pretty good.

I didn't realize it was on this blu-ray. I put my copy in and ran the optimizer, and the results were considerably different than when I tried it with a regular DVD. I need to just break down and buy a real calibration disc.
