Its not that no one is playing, its that the PS3 version has severe connection issues so you have to be insanely lucky to be able to connect to someone to play. More than likely hardwired internet as well.

oh really ok I thought it was a little odd. I've spent alot of time trying. Also I did manage to play and win ONE game of ranked home run pinball. But I didnt get the trophy for "win your first ranked match online". Does it have to be a ballgame game? It just says "ranked match"?

Yeah by match it means game. You have to win an actual game, not the pinball.
