I'm embarrassed to say my best blind buy would have to be casino royale. It's embarrassing that I'd never seen the movie before. When I got my ps3 I asked a friend what a good blu-ray would be and he told me to buy CR and I would not be disappointed.

I can't speak to "best" blind buy, as technically most of my purchases are blind. Usually, I've heard enough going in to get a good idea if I'll like a film enough to gamble more than the cost of a rental. But Next and Disturbia really caught me by surprise, even if the later is a Rear Window remake.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was probably my best blind-buy. I didn't even know what to expect, but I was so glad I bought it.

Next would probably be Street Kings then Batman: Gotham Knight.

1. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
2. Street Kings
3. Batman: Gotham Knight

Don't be embarrassed. I never seen casino royale until I bought the blu-ray either. It's actually the fist Bond movie I've watched all the way through. A friend told me how good it was and I'm defiantly glad I listened.

Oh I don't think its embarrassing at all. I would have never saw the movie if I had not read the rave reviews. thought I'd give it a try when it first came out despite the fact that I absolutely hate Bond movies( i might be in the minority here) and they all put me to sleep. Needless to say CR was not any different than any other bond movie and I'm glad I rented it instead of blind buying it.

Thumbs up

Based on sterling reviews, I blind-purchased Paul Verhoven's 'Black Book'. It's a top-tier title in terms of content, PQ, & AQ. The dutch actress who plays the lead, is fabulous & I'm looking forward to seeing her english language film debut in the upcoming 'Valkyrie'.

Zombie Strippers!

Watched this a few days ago and it reminds me of the original Return of the Living Dead
Gory, very funny and film that doesn't take its self seriously

Loved them all.
Blind buying that this weekend, the name is just perfect, so I want to get it. But my best blind buy overall would have to be Appleseed. A bunch of people here raved about it, picked it up and have seen it maybe 10 times so far, and plan to watch it again this weekend.

With Blu's being expensive I haven't really brought that many blindly. However, I just got back from the US and I noticed Twister for $20. I had already brought Transformers, Iron Man and The Godfather and I had some spare cash so I thought that I would just get it.

Me and the wife watched it last night and for a film that came out in 1996 the pq is superb. It kind of makes me angry now when I see newer films getting a shoddy transfer, there is no excuse if Twister can look so good.
