Default Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speakers

Just wondering for those who have these what they are like? It seems they are now discontinued?!? according to Amazon at least. They are selling the collection for $399. Just wondering where this falls in terms of deals others have found? I am looking to set up a new home theater in the house. Looking to get AVR soon also, thought this was a nice collection of speakers. Dont need the pricey stuff, just something loud and allows me to enjoy blu rays to the max!

Energy Take Classics are good performers for what they are.
They are a set of Home Theater Speakers that cover 5 channels(Front L&R,Center, and Side Surround L&R).

I am not 100% sure if this Energy Take System is the same as the one on Amazon. Here it is on NewEgg for a total of $199.00 Brand New.

Energy's home theater speaker sets are well recieved and highly rated as good performers. So it is a set you can take a look at.If you have a chance to listen to this set before you pull the trigger I would do so.Just remember this set doesnt have a powered sub with it.So,it doesnt have a very strong and deep Bass response because it does lack a sub woofer.

If you want another good set that is a good performer, but includes a powered subwoofer to give a truer to a Theater sound there is this set you can also look at.Polk Link:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882290066

And perhaps you would be able to audition these Home Theater Sets to see which,if either of these,or another type, that may be what you consider the one that would sound and perform the best for you.

There are a few owners of these speakers on the Energy Speaker Owners thread here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=98103

You can ask some of them directly about how they sound and what they paid for them. The first post includes a list of Energy owners and which speakers they have.

Welcome to the site!

I would look here for the same price and equipment, I say this because I have had good experiences there as well as many others on this site and you get free shipping.

The Take series are very good speakers for their bookshelf size.

Hey Callas, you said I would look here, where is here? Haha, this website? And the Take series is half the cost of the Energy Classic, are they that much worse in quality? THanks again man

I have the Energy Act6 in my bedroom. They are excellent sounding speakers and they get a lot louder than you would expect. The Take Classic has gotten many good reviews so I would imagine that they sound just as good as my Energy speakers. I don't think you would be disappointed in the least. I would grab the $199.99 package off of Newegg and add a good sub. I'm not sure what your total budget is, but there are some good budget options if you want to keep the cost down. You could go with an Acoustic Audio, Premier Acoustic, BIC, Cadence, or Elemental Designs sub to keep the cost down.
