India/Bollywood Any bonus features on Ayngaran Blu-rays?

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if someone could tell me whether or not any of the Blu-Rays released by Ayngaran (Sivaji, Billa, Villu, Pokkiri, and the coming soon Kuruvi) have any special features whatsoever. I'm guessing that since it isn't mentioned in the product description on Ayngaran's website nor on the back of the disc cases as seen on this website that they don't but hey you never know.

If they indeed do not hold any special features, is this also the case for the respective DVD releases of said films (I'm pretty sure there's a 3-Disc DVD release of Sivaji, that can't be feature-less can it)?

If indeed the films have no bonus features that is very unfortunate, as the lack of features can be a real dealbreaker for many customers (myself included), especially if the DVD release had some. And nearly 30 US dollars (17 pounds) for a barebones release? Now that is entirely too much. Every film should at the very least include it's own theatrical trailer, if nothing else.

Anyway, here's hoping someone can and will answer me soon,
Thank you.

I own Sivaji and Pokkirri and both of them are the theatrical versions without any sort of special features.

The PQ and AQ are awesome though !! It was worth it .. atleast for me.

I don't think they have. I will check and confirm. Frankly, I buy blu-rays for the main feature not for the extra features. Extra features are taken as a bonus.

Eros blu-rays OSO and Heyy Babyy have extra features.

Thanks for your replies! Syncguy please do check and confirm.

Sure extra features are a bonus, but I think Blu-Rays should contain everything the DVD holds + possibly more. As such if the DVD of a movie has no special features and the Blu-Ray has no special features I find it disappointing, but ok. However if the DVD has some while the Blu-Ray has none, I may either get the DVD or not get the movie at all depending on the film as I find it ridiculous that the DVD should get a better package than the Blu-Ray.

For example I found out what was the Sivaji 3 Disc DVD:

-Disc 1: Movie with a DTS audio track
-Disc 2: Movie with a Dolby Digital audio track (??? couldn't they have put both on the same disc?)
-Disc 3: Making Of The Movie (30 min)/ Silver Jubilee (2 hrs)

Since all the bonus features are on one disc, couldn't Ayngaran have simply packaged Disc 3 of the DVD along with the Blu-Ray, just like Bodega did for their Blu-Ray release of Jodhaa Akbar? That would have been the way to go I believe and I don't think I will buy Sivaji until they do just that (especially at the price they're demanding, nearly 30 US dollars without shipping while for 23 I can get a reference quality 2 disc Transformers Blu Ray packed with extras!)

But all rambling aside my stance is that if it is on the DVD it should be on the Blu-Ray, and if there isn't anything on the DVD it's sorta acceptable that there isn't anything on the Blu-Ray (but it's really disappointing).

All 4 tamil blu rays lack special features. All of them do come with lossless audio. In order of AQ/PQ. I wasn't that impressed with Billa, but the other 3 was a major step up from the original dvd

Sivaji
Villu
Pokkiri
Billa

Yes, Billa and Pokkiri both are not excellent as Sivaji and Villu. The latter two are excellent. I feel that Pokkiri and Billa have some DNR (digital noise reduction) and EE (edge enhancement) not to an extent to annoy me. But it is higher than Sivaji and Villu. Not sure whether DNR/EE comes from the DI or added at the blu-ray transfer stage. If DNR/EE were added during the blu-ray transfer that is an oversight and should not be repeated again.

We need at least Sivaji quality. I think slight DNR on that probably from the original DI which unfortunately cannot be removed.
