Default Fire Place Question

I have my HDTV hanging over my fireplace and all the cables hanging on the side running to my Receiver, Blu Ray and Cable. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the wall and just putting the cables inside the wall and pulling them out from the other side, that way they are hiding and not out in the open. The Fireplace shaft is not exactly in the center of the wall it runs more to the opposite side of where the cables would be. My Question is: Would the heat of the chimney be bad for the cables (Start a Fire, Melt the Cables, Ruin the cables, etc.)??
The Cables are: 2 HDMI Cables, Nintendo Wii Power Cable and Sensor Cable, and TV Power Cable.

PLEASE HELP ME
