PS3 Slim NPD Sales Rest of 09 Poll - Blu-ray Forum

Ok, Slims obviously going to go sail right past the 360 for september and I bet right past the wii. One month is not a trend, this poll is to see who thinks the slim can keep it up through the end of the year in the US. Why end of the year? Obviously-the most important months of the year with by far the most sales. Why NPD? Well, cuz unfortunately that's the only market where all three systems are competitive and we get actual numbers.

Will the ps3:
Outsell the 360 for the rest of 09?
Outsell the wii for the rest of 09?
Outsell the DS/DSI for the rest of 09?
Outsell the PSP/PSPGo for the rest of 09?
None of the above (boo!)

Definitely outsell the 360. I mean, with that price nobody will give up their money for a very glitchy console.

I'm gonna buy one for me and one as a gift to replace a friend's older Blu-ray player. I think it'll sustain. It's got a ton going for it and now more with the amazing price.

Or maybe I should just listen to Ron Enderle and short my Sony stock?

PS. How's that Logitech Bluetooth to IR thing working?

If you are just talking about 1 month, it will probably outsell the 360 but I dont know about the Wii. The Wii is a juggernaut. It's going to be a great holiday season for the PS3 though.

I mean recently im in mexico doing my studies and the Ps3 tha i brought with me died cause of the yellow light of death and i will definetely tell my brother who is in the states to buy me one and send it tome . I cant wait for the release!!! will be purchasing one even though im not in the states, now imagine all of you that live over there who are probably are going to do and upgrade

However, I bet that under 3-4 weeks tops the new PS3 Slim and the price-dropped PS3 Oldie will outsell the 360 in no time.

I think there is going to be a pretty fast run on all the Best Buy/Target/Walmart pack-in PS3 that also appear to be dropping. I told someone today that they might be better off trying to get a Killzone 2 MGS4 pack from BB if they can find it quick - since the LBP one dropped on the web to 299, I'm guessing any remaining stock of those dropped to. That's one crazy deal.

Yeah totally, I'd be pissed if I bought a PS3 within the last month or so. But on the plus side that makes the bundles even MORE of a good deal right now. I'm sure they will be snatched up within 24 hours at most locations.

PS3 Slim #1 in Amazon Video games sales rankings and the fatty 80GB is #7. Off to a blazing start. Opps...forgot to mention that the PS3 Blu-ray remote is #24 and climbing. Guess some of those new PS3 owners will be watching BD movies

Although the new PS3 is slimmer and has a bigger HDD, i just don't like the look of it topwise. I'm happy with my bulky 40gb PS3. Hell i was holding before replacing my HDD to see what this new looks like. I'm dissapointed. i'll replace my HDD instead

Moment of truth time. If the PS3 can't outsell the 360 the rest of the year, doomed to second place. I love my PS3's far more than my 360 but that's the way I see it.

Voted that it will outsell the 360, but I think that's it from that list. Possibly the PSP.

With the new price cut, BDs will be more saturated in the video market and we will have more members here on blu ray forum.

Its only my opinion for the US market, and I hope I am wrong. Personally I think too many people buy second 360's due to RROD to have the PS3 outsell it

Will definitely outsell the Xbox 360 this holiday in North America.

Will probably outsell the PSP Go (unless Sony backs off and drops the price a bit on the Go to something below "ridiculously exorbitant").

Other than that... doubtful it will outsell the Wii even at $299 (but miracles could happen). Definitely will not sell the DS/DSi.

I agree with above. September will be a big month for the PS3. I also expect the PS3 to best the Xbox this month.
