Default new to this.....soo i can use the advice

first of all, this is my first post. i currently own a 32" samsung 720p and i just bought a samsung p1600 blu ray player. now, im somewhat in the market for some speakers.

im not looking for anything crazy, just something that will make the sound a bit better in my room. keep in mind, this set up will be in my bedroom, not living room.

at first, i was considering the bose cinemate system ($500) but somehow, i stumbled upon the logitech z-5450 system. according to what i researched, it seems to get positive feedback. the two wireless speakers attracts me the most.

sooo my question is, what other options do i have? i would like to keep the budget around $300

Do you already have a receiver?

$300 for speakers and receiver will aim you towards HTiB- maybe a nice Onkyo HTiB. I'll look for some links

Heck, that's how I started, then upgraded all of it slowly.

THIS is probably your best bet for $300. For a bedroom this should do the trick.

Shop around, I know your budget is tight but you may find once you start doing research on audio systems your head will spin.

I had a set of Logitech z5500 pc speakers which I thought were excellent pc speakers. However, for $300 on the z-5450 I think you should reconsider the $500 you were originally going to spend on the Bose system and go this route:

Receiver ($299): Pioneer VSX-819H-K
5.1 Speakers ($209): Polk Audio RM6750

The z-5450 also won't do HD audio.

Here's an even better idea. You can get THIS receiver for just $199 and THESE speakers for $199. For just $400 shipped you will have a nice sounding setup. Since your Blu-ray player decodes all of the HD audio codecs this receiver is perfect since it will accept PCM which is what your player will output. For just $100 over your budget it is well worth it.

Good find! Only thing though is the 519V-K only does PCM over HDMI, which means the HD audio decoders have to be in the player. I'm not sure the BD 1600 decodes the HD codecs.
