WB predictions for France.

Bon, là j'ai une plaquette WARNER "Etat des lieux 2007" sur la HD...
On y apprend :

1) qu'il y a 2,7M de TV HD en France à fin mars 2007 (5M prévus en fin d'année)

2) qu'il y a eu 49709 HD DVD vendus pour 60 381 BD au 21 mai 2007

3) que le lecteur ONKYO est annoncé par WARNER pour le 3èmeT

4) qu'il y avait à fin avril 108 000 PS3 et 800 lecteurs de salon BD contre 7400 XBOX + HD et 2600 lecteurs de salon HD DVD... soit 108 800 BD vs 10 000 HD DVD

5) que les projections donnent 540 000 BD vs 121 000 HD DVD d'ici la fin de l'année

6)que THE ISLAND est prévu pour septembre, la trilogie MATRIX pour octobre, la quadralogie HARRY POTTER pour novembre et la trilogie OCEAN 11, 12 et 13 est prévu pour DECEMBRE.

1) For the month ending March 2007, there were 2.7m HDTVs in use in France (5m are expected to be sold by the YE).

2) Sales of HD DVD and Blu-ray through to May 2007 were 47,907 and 60,381 respectively.

3) Onkyo will be introducing a player (of sorts, no mention on the format) by Q3.

4) Total Blu-ray players in France is 108,800 - 108,000 PS3 and 800 (LOL) dedicated players, for HD DVD it is 10,000 total with 7,400 dedicated players and 2,600 Xbox 360 add-on drives.

5) Our (as in WB) projections show that there will be 540,000 Blu-ray players and 121,000 HD DVD players by the end of the year.

6) In September we will release The Island, in October we expect to release The Matrix trilogy, in November we will release the Harry Potter quadrilogy and in December Oceans 11, 12, and 13.

Am I reading wrong? Doesn't it say that in total players, BD outnumbers HD more than two to one, yet they expect there to be way more HD players by year's end?

Not sure about the "2 to 1" part, but I think that what cajmoyper may be pointing out (which is what I noticed as well) is that they are expecting BR growth to increase 5x while HD growth to be 12x (with no given reason).

Well here I have a placard by Warner: "State of affairs 2007" about HD.

From it you can learn:

1) That there were 2.7m HDTVs in France at the end of March (5m expected by the end of the year).

2) Sales of HD DVDs and Blu-rays through May 21, 2007 were 47,907 and 60,381 respectively.

3) An Onkyo player is announced by Warner for Q3.
