Question Can PS3 Bitstream Games?

I have been trying to get my PS3 to bitstream DD or DTS on a game. I have played with the settings with no luck.

Do anyone know if this is possible?

Secondly, can someone show me how to do it if the PS3 will send bitstream audio for games.

Nope. Not unless something has changed. Want the DTS to show up on your receiver?

Why is there settings for decoding choices and you can force the PS3 to bitstream DD or DTS?

Lossy DD and DTS, yes.

Have you gone through

Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings > [connector type] > Manual

and checked all the formats your receiver supports are ticked?

That's for non game BD/DVD playback. Movie, television, what have you.

Well, you can bitstream video games in DTS and Dolby Digital to your AVR.

A friend set it up for me. You have to deselect everything except DD and DTS 5.1 in the Audio Setting Menu. You have to HDMI and select (manual) which allows you to pick all the sound modes.
