Default Panasonic Plasma TV Glitch, please help???

I purchased a Panasonic Plasma TV the: TH-50PZ850A about 3 months ago last few weeks I have noticed a glitch if that's what you call it, basically the screen goes black & background noise can be heard but it only last's about a second!
At first I thought it might be the STB (Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Recorder with 250GB HDD & Twin HD Tuner [Model No: DMR-BW750])
Thing is I recorded a tv show onto the hard disc & while I was watchig it, it happened again so I decided to (REW) go back & rewind to check & see it the issue was there again or had been recorded cause I thought it might be a signal loss (arial) but it wasnt recorded or in other words no probs!

Has anyone come across this problem?
Don't know if it's the TV or the Digital Set Top Box?
If I watch the TV say for 4 hours it may happen twice!

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I would try a different HDMI port if you haven't already. If it still happens try another HDMI cable.

Had a technician from Panasonic come over today he inspected the TV & tell's me I cannot fault the TV as I cannot find any faults with it!
So then I tell him do you think it's the STB?
And he replies it's not part of my dept so I cannot help you there I only look after TV'S so now I have to find out what wrong with the stb, I hope the plce I purchased it from can do something for me!
I noticed this glitch also happens when im watching a Blu-Ray or DVD

Can you bypass the STB, and just run the tv with OTA or whatever feed you have coming in? Even better, borrow a basic BD player from a friend and watch some movies...that would tell you for sure if it's the STB before you have to send it in.

If the STB box is going through your AVR try removing that from the equation and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice guys, I give those a shot!
One question though have you guys ever seen or heard of green lines appearing on the TV but only for a very short time (1-2 seconds)?

maybe the stb bd is switching the native resolution

this happens to me with my directv box when i go from 1080i to 720p or from one resolution to another

it even 'blackens out' on my 42" dlp in the bedroom

I had the same issue with the receiver and DirecTv, and by changing it from native, it got rid of the green flashes that I had on my DirecTv box as well. I agree with Don, it does this whenever the resolution changed.

Just an update, I have changed the HDMI cable for a real cheap one I also hooked up the aerial directly to the TV as opposed to the STB & so far so good no probs yet!
So I'll try that out for a few more days & thanks again for all the advice guys

Working just fine now, I think it was the HDMI cable hard to believe though had an expensive QED cable & swapped it over with an unknown brand wich was real cheap & it's working perfectly fine!

I get a green flash on my Panny occasionally. It's very seldom and just flashes for a few milliseconds so I don't sweat it, when the TV finally shits I'll just get a new one.

Bingo. This should've been the first solution, which the OP later found out. It was a handshake issue caused by the cable. I'd say you're safe to hook up your STB again, but this time try a different cable. Usually, if the HDMI cable is loose or it just sucks in general, it will re-issue a handshake causing the components to "black out" temporarily.
