Spain €38 DVDGo shipping to UK -alternative stores?

DVDGo.com want €38 shipping for a 7 item delivery. Seems a lot to me (I can get a return flight to Spain for £55 ).

Any recommendations for other Spanish websites that ship to the UK?

I'd love to see Amazon open in Spain. I think their business model would work better there than it does in the lacklustre http://www.amazon.it

Had a look @ http://www.starscafe.com and http://www.elcorteingles.es

Loads of stuff missing that DVDGo has.

I maybe just have to go with DVDGo or get their free shipping and get a relative to ship to me (always a nervous thing as http://www.correos.es/dinamic/montad...000P&idioma=ES has caused problems in the past). They just don't seem to be bothered about actually delivering stuff.

You have not many options left, maybe the Fnac, not sure at all if they ship outside Spain, i guess they do tho.

Anyways, what are those 7 films you want? just out of curiosity!

Thanks

It's mostly DVDs and the Blu-ray of La Mala Educación http://www.dvdgo.com/dvd-la-mala-edu...1799152/154751

If I go for DVDGo I'll add more titles because the shipping seems to be a flat charge.

FNAC.es don't impress and they seem to have some seriously poor stock levels.

I picked up two Almodovar discs from Spain earlier this year. They were not impressive.

Unless you absolutely have to have this film now, I would recommend waiting for Sony to tackle it, and the rest of the Almodovar films, as they will definitely do a better job.

(Also, perhaps now that Wellspring are no longer with us in the U.S., one of our most prestigious independent distributors could release an Almodovar film or two ).

Thanks for the heads up

I've removed that from my order and went ahead with DVDGo with their free shipping offer (I'll reship from Spain). Always been a good store and they do seem to only to ship in one order (unlike the luxury we are used to with Amazon -DVDGo would charge per shipment). If they don't at least the whole order is marked as "free shipping" for mainland Spain.

People should also give http://en.todocoleccion.net a try for rarer stuff. Plenty people there willing to ship internationally.

Default About FNAC

Hello,
The FNAC are good. They ship Blu ray and DVD's outside Spain and in present time you can buy 3 Blu ray and pay only 2. Of course, DVDGO has better prices, but this promotion 3 * 2 is OK.
For far, the solution will be Amazon Spain. I live in South America and I have to pay 32 euro per shipping.
Regars,
Ariel

Wow, thanks for the info.

FNAC's website and order info is horrible as is virtually their entire database.

I placed my order with DVDGo all that time ago and it's still sitting there doing nothing. No information, no updates or any communication.

I think we are VERY spolied using Amazon but they get it right most of the time and I don't know why people can't copy their service a bit more. Only bad thing with Amazon is their cart (which I may have 50 items in) is very annoying for editing.

Amazon España!

Amazon did buy the Spanish web Buyvip.com about a year ago for 70 millions. During the last months rumors began to increase about the inminent opening of the Spanish branch.

Yesterday, news about a press conference hold by Greg Greeley next September 14 in Madrid spread too fast over the net and spokesman form Amazon has refused to confirmn or denied the opening, but industry insiders has confirmed that Mr. Greeley will confirm the opening of Amazon.es for the next day, September 15.

Until Christmas holiday, the web will not sell e-books, but BDs, DVDs, books, video-games and other electronic stuff will be ready to be sold from the first day.

Here you have two links (in Spanish) from two of the biggest Spanish newspapers:

Amazon arrives to Spain next September 15th

Yes, great news for people in Spain and around the world hopefully.

As for my DVDGo order it has part shipped but no email/update received nor is there any information about the rest of the order. Still, I do find DVDGo to be the best for stock in Spain in my 12+ years of DVD buying and I hope they improve or the will soon disappear.

Amazon is successful because they offer a great product. You'd think that was easy for other stores to replicate but it seems not. I guess it's taken many years of massive investment.

Amazon means great deals during the whole year and a superb customer service. And speaking of Spain, none of the online retailers offers such things.

God save Amazon!!! We Spaniards welcome Amazon!!!

IF Amazon Spain maintains the high standard of service common to its other branches (there's no reason to think otherwise), then it's gonna blast its competitors in Spain. At least when talking about exporting items to the rest of the world. I have passed from buying several spanish DVD/BDs just because the shipping costs are out of the charts (in a very bad way).

Bienvenido sea pues Amazon España.

Amazon will do very well in Spain because they will bring over management from the US -many of whom are Spanish speaking of course. Combine that with good local staff too.

Those facts and the application of their usual high standards is a no brainer.

At least they could have free shipping inside the country, as they do with UK or US (don't know if any other) or at least make if free if you spend 30€+...

Anyways, it's gonna be better than what we have, for sure.

luwanda, what you quoted from my post is regarding ONLY the book prices which are regulated by law and it only allows a 5% off (and this can be "avoided" using a system of coupons). The rest of the products do not have that regulation.

Oh, i see... couldn't read it properly since i'm at the job; but do you really think they'll match BD prices with those from UK? i'd like to believe it

edit: Anda coño!, no me había dado cuenta de que también eres de Madrid
