Damn, 2400 watts? You could probably just get 2 smaller high end subs that use a lot less juice and call it a day. Looks pretty badass though

They also include a box of these to hold everything down in your room.

Default yikes

You would need a rather large room for that beast, not to mention some killer speakers in your setup to ever hear anything other than boom--- looks awesome

Well, the eD has dual 18" subs, but only half the wattage. From the specs it appears to be a pair of A7 450's in one box. Who's to know which will perform the best without a shootout, but at face value I'd say the eD since typically two subs outperform one.

On the other hand with twice the wattage in what appears to be a pretty small enclosure should make for a good battle. I've never heard a Revel sub myself or an eD for that matter, but one thing I keep reading is that Revel subs have very good sound quality and they generally get a degree lower than the specs reveal. I'm sure there's a serious price tag to go with this baby though.

Well the A7-900 is a ported sub while the Behemoth is sealed. Sealed subs are a lot less power-efficient and require WAYYY more juice to drive them. But, they don't suffer as steep of a rolloff from the room tuning frequency and can actually have a gradual/shallow roll off in output. They can have more output at lower frequencies than a ported enclosure

Holy hell... Its 225 lbs?? Better schedule a hernia surgery if you install one of these in your HT. Or in Big Daddy's case, might add 4

That's part of the reason I think it would be a good shootout. I personally like sealed subs more than ported subs. The sound is tighter to me. I just demoed a Martin Logan Dynamo and an Abyss in Best Buy last night and man do they sound good. Both of them are very fast subs. I was especially impressed with the Abyss, but not so much the $1100 price that they want for it.

I was actually there to check out the Def Tech Supercube III which sounded good, but the output was lackluster. Yeah, it goes as low as the specs say but this wasn't a particularly loud sub, but then I heard the Dynamo and I was like...whoa!! That little guy surprised me especially since its only rated down to 25hz officially by Martin Logan. Watching some scenes from Iron Man I'd say the response is much lower, but not as loud as a much larger sub could do. That little guy was impressive nonetheless.

I'm eying an upgrade soon, but I haven't decided which way to go yet. I want more power and depth, but I think I want something small. My choices seem to be limited in this department, but I've been checking out an Earthquake and a Sunfire since I wasn't too impressed with the Supercube. The bad thing is that I missed the Dynamo markdown that Amazon had the other night for $350 shipped.

Price wise wouldn't this potentially be on par with a Fathom? I always thought of Revel products as expensive.

I believe you are correct. I can't say I've seen anything by Revel that wasn't expensive.

Well, HERE are some prices on Ebay right now on some of their gear. This is mostly used gear, but there are few new products for sale also.
