Yup, it's all but officially confirmed.

I still say this is the price the thing should have come out at in the first place, but it's good news in any event.

yeah...I agree...

although I don't know if the people I talk to are too proud to admit the 100 bucks is a big deal...but they say they don't care if it comes down 100 bucks and they'll get it when they get it...

but 5 free movies along with the price drop....that's unbeatable...

I really do have doubts about this price cut. 20gb PS3 was going for $499 and wasn't selling that well at all. Sluggish sales of PS3 have more to do with lack of good games and all this bad mouthing and negativity on internet. I say, release some kick butt games to make people want ps3 (bait) and then lower price later. Price cut now, would be interpreted as sign of weakness and desperation.

My 2 cents.

Get to Target and get your PS3 for $499. This has been confirmed at Targets around the country!! HUGE YMMV but has been confirmed in California and the midwest. Super Hit or miss!
