Default Lil-H's cinema

Im new here, but have frequented quite a bit due to the fact that blu-ray.com reviews BDs significantly faster than highdefdigest!.

Just thought I'd create a thread regarding my cinema, and see if there's anyone interested in discussing it

I haven't posted my collection or anything but it's roughly 130+ HD DVDs, 80+BDs, 180+CDs, 200+DVDs, 15PS3, 8X360 plus shitloads of PS2, PSX and PSP-games. I consider myself a hardcore geek.

There's been a few upgrades lately, Sony 5200ES -> Onkyo 875, new poweramp and of course TV -> PJ (Samsung M87 -> Sony HW10).

No worries there garlad. I mostly buy all my equipment used, so retail vs paid wouldn't necessarily reflect what I've paid.

I've probably spent 100k NOK I guess, which would equal $16k. Give or take.

But hey, I could eat a knob at night

I would suggest keeping the knob comments to a minimum.

garlad. Phew, luckily someone understood what it meant
Beta Man: You gotta listen to The Ricky Gervais podcast, the one with 12episodes in it. It's pure genious. Then you gotta buy the book Karl wrote, which contains his diary!
What do you mean by area? As in where it's located in my home? Hmm, up the stairs and take a right. Yeah, that's about right.

Yeah... that's what I meant..... as in, was it a basement, above a garage, etc.

I will try and post some more pictures in a little while.

Behind the curtains where the screen is, there are two (white) doors, so main focus was getting the room totally black. I guess the curtains damp some treble as well, but not as much as the ones I have in the "first reflections". The curtains in the back is to cover for the blind which again is to cover for any light that might come in during daytime. I also put some jumpers on the top of the blind/curtain to further cover any light. I guess this is the right time to mention it - all LEDs are taped

When all curtains and shades are down, the room is reference black (no difference between eyes closed/open).

The sofa comes in two parts, a chaise lounge and the rest. Luckily for me I guess

They're only 32kg (71.5lb). Still, built like a tank.
The center weighs actually 15kg, that's alot you'd ask me!

Hi all

Just thought I'd get some of your opinions on this.
I am seriosuly considering switching my release 60GB PS3 (yes, I imported illegally to Norway) to the slimmer one just arrived.
It is quiter, which has been a major issue for me not watching films on it anymore, colder, draws less power and supports bitstream.

The cons would be not supporting BC and SACD. I do however have two PS2, normal and slim and then a SONY SACD-player I am quite satisfied with. So the real big thing for me not switching in an moment is how hideous it looks.
Has anyone seen it irl, is it just as bad the pictures say?
On second thought it doesn't have memslots in front, but not that I used them that frequently

Going retail at $299 is amazing, considering I paid $550 + $180 for superduper express shipping to norway.
The price also might go down a few dollars, but I still have to pay for shipping.

I'd say sell the old one then and buy the slim. The old one might go out on you anyday now also (or not). Besides you already have 2 ps2s and a sacd player so your good to go.

Thanks for the advice sean! I have put it out for sale, and if things turn out ok, I hopefully sell it.

The next upgrade for me, is some while in to the future, but I am seriously considering "cinema" speakers next time I'm getting something new.
Anyone ever tested the JBL 8350's?
http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/genera...?PId=278&MId=1

And if I win the lottery I'll go for 3x JBL Array 1400 in the front

oh the activity here...

Well, I sold my PS3, so now I'm just waiting for the money to come in before I buy the slim version. I'm pretty sure I'll buy it from videogamesplus.ca - they even have red, blue, white and silver DualShock 3's
