Default eBay help: best thing to do if your item doesn't sell

This may be the first time something I have for sell doesn't actually sell.

Are there any tips? I don't know if I will have to pay eBay for listing my item even if it doesn't sell. If they do, should I take it off before the 30 days ends? I'll try lowering it by $1 or so, but it's already cheap (Inception BD with lenticular slip for $6 by the way in excellent shape - no digital). I don't have a single watcher.

What's the best thing to do?

Thanks

You had to pay $1 to list your item? What extras did you add for it to cost that? A bold title or something? I have a bunch of movies listed for 30 days and it costs me nothing.

Well, I know there are fees associated when selling an item on eBay, right? Or is that just from PayPal? I didn't exactly get charged yet. I just meant there are fees when you sell an item.

I meant I will lower my price by $1 to possibly attract more buyers.

Basic listing is free. PayPal will take their cut when the transaction takes place. eBay totals your dollars sold for a month, I believe, and takes their cut after the selling month.

Are you selling for $6 shipped? Or $6 plus about $3.50?

So both Ebay and PayPal try to get a “cut” of your money when you sell an item? I don’t use it enough.

$6 shipped

*update: I have a watcher now watching my item for sale - yes!

Correct. eBay eventually takes 9% of your selling price and PayPal immediately takes 2.9% + 30 cents. I see you have media mail so that will cost $2.66.

By my math (not including packaging materials) if you sell it for $6.00 shipped on eBay you will actually keep $2.33.

Thanks for the info! That is helpful.

Yeah I know it’s not much. I tried a garage sale, and Half Price only was going to give about 50 cents per movie. I’m running out of storage so need to sell my double dips.
