Black Christmas (Canadian) VS Black Christmas (US) - Blu-ray Forum

I was quite underwhelmed by the US blu-ray for Black Christmas (1974). No TrueHD or DTS-HD audio.

Does anyone have the specs for the Canadian blu-ray release? I can't find them and am wondering if this is an upgrade from the crummy US version.

It's the same exact thing, just different (better) cover art. The dude who worked on the disc posted a lot on HDD during the production of the blu-ray.

So its the closest we have to a definitive version in Region A? I wouldn't suppose there's a region free blu of this with better specs somewhere...

This is the best you're gonna get. They were pretty clear that this release was very costly as it is, and a restoration or any further work on the title would just be too expensive to justify.

It's just not a big enough seller.

has anyone seen this in stores recently? i saw it at wal mart when it first came out but since then its disappeared, ive only seen it at a little random dvd shop and it was crazy high in price.

I saw it at my local Wal-Mart yesterday. Looked like they got a new shipment, because they got some other older titles in as well, including Halloween (original one).

This movie isn't going to look any better. Its pretty much transparent to the master according to the insider that worked on the Blu-ray.
