Most likely CRT Tube TV's will be going completely out of production soon. My local Best Buy has no more Tube TV's on display. Best Buy only currently lists a discontinued Dynex brand 480I 27 inch model for a clearance price of $189.99.

Also Tube TV's cannot be found at the standard Walmart store or even on their website anymore. Only a select few 480I Tube CRT TV's can be found at Super Walmart stores. The best one Super Walmart had was a low price model with very little features. Super Walmart had a 480I Sansui 27 inch tube TV for around $188. There was also some 13 inch and 20 inch models. Gone are the days of finding $399.99 27 inch or larger HD 1080I CRT TV's that receive a 1920 X 1080 signal and output around a 1300 X 1080 interlaced picture. In the old days there was tube CRT models around 40 inches in size including some 1080I 34 inch HD models.

In two years or less most likely all Tube TV's will be out of production including computer monitors. CRT produced the deepest blacks and excellent contrast ratio but consumers prefer the LCD and Plasma flat screens that are lighter and thinner. The good news is the plasma and LCD technology keeps improving in the area of black levels and might one day match or beat the black levels of the best CRT TV's.
