I am sort of a new fan of Judd Apatow. I love his movies for the hilarity and for the message in each one of them. I think his movies are unique, because like Martin Liebman says in his review of I Love You, Man, "Just when it seems Comedy has sunk to a painful and irrecoverable new low, the genre manages to pull one more trick out of its sleeve and surprise audiences with a fresh story that delivers plenty of honest, gut-busting laughs along the way." With Apatow's films we have fresh new comedy with a sort of honest and true-to-life message attached. In some circles the message may be mildly convicting; however, true to the point.

You cannot deny that within the past decade Apatow has had his name engraved in some the most off-the-wall yet undeniably funny comedies such as 'Zohan', 'Walk Hard', and 'Pineapple Express'. However, it is his directorial projects that seem to have the most profound impact on not only the genre, but also the industry. When Apatow got his start, he invested in a group of the, at the time, most unusual suspects consisting of Jason Segel, Seth Rogan, James Franco, and more when he created the series 'Freaks and Geeks'. The series was eventually canned after one season, however these kids eventually rose to fame through the Apatow written, produced, or directed in the time afterward.
