Good at something - Blu-ray Forum

I'm sure everyone has at least one thing that they've always kind of wished they were good at, but for whatever reason (and not necessarily for lack of trying) they just aren't.

So what is your thing?

Mine is singing. I'm certainly not tone-deaf, but by no means does my singing voice sound pleasing to the ears.

I wish I was good at Madden, oh wait I'm 120-50 on that game so far this year, probably not the best example. I wish I was good at forcing myself not to buy so many movies.

I wish I was better at being a "handy-man" around the house/with the car. I know that we would save lots of $$$ if I could do more of the repairs myself.

Just call me Jack! ( Of all trades).

I build computers for people, but try not to. In the past yr I've installed 3 garage door openers, 2 central vacuums, build 3 fences and 1 deck. I've also set up 2 home theatres, and plan on framing my recroom in the next month or 2.

Put it in front of me, and I'll do it. There's a learing curve of course, but the only thing I choose to shy away from is work on cars. That...I'll leave to the pros.

i can do some handy work around the house, it doesn't look the best all the time but it gets done.

i wish i could do the work and have it look good.

example: i finished putting soffetting on the house yesterday, it's all done, looks alright but there are some that are scratched or not in all the way or whatever.

Wish I were good at golf. I love the game but I'm so terrible. I just think playing golf really well is a cool skill.

Oil changes are easy.

I'd love to be good with an instrument. My father was great @ the piano but I never managed to get a grasp of it. Played the drums in high school but that's just bangin on bongos lol. Women are impressed by men that play the piano.

I guess another one would be an athlete. Those guys are on top of the world. Millions of dollars and non-stop endorsements. Derek Jeter makes 7 mil a year just to appear in tv ads.

It's frustrating, because I'm actually really uncommonly good at writing music, but sub-mediocre at playing it.

That's the spirit ! Who cares if everyone thinks you're crap at it ? As long as you love it, then...

I just wish I was more handy. It all makes sense when I read about it, but applying what I learned is not always the easiest thing.

I've always wanted to be a better writer, especially in the context of writing about audio. Some people here are very descriptive in their analysis of how a particular component sounds or when addressing the qualities (or lack thereof) on a CD/SA-CD/LP/BD. I admire that!

I've been told I'm a very good people person. My wife keeps telling me to change from Collections/Accounting to HR. I don't want to deal with people that much though internally.

I'm working on my photography because I've been told I have a decent eye for framing shots. I just need to get all the technical aspects down.
