I need a sub for my system. Mirage speakers. Pioneer 1018 receiver. Room is 12x12x10 Soon to be 17x12x8.
Its between the ED A2-300 and the SVS PB10-NSD. I really like the sound of the ED but the wait sucks. Should I deal with it or go for the SVS? IS the SVS that much better? This will be my first real sub! Thanks!!!! |

Craigsub list ranks the eD as the better sub in terms of HT and the SVS better for music. It is really close though.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=768150 I think you would be happy with either. Last edited by JasonR; 08-17-2009 at 09:52 PM. |

I'm not familiar with the ED A2-300, but I did own an SVS PB10-NSD for about five months last year. It was an amazing 10" sub: Powerful, tight bass...and plenty of it! Well worth the money.
The PB12-NSD is even better... ![]() ![]() Last edited by eljay; 08-17-2009 at 09:55 PM. |

SVS got my sub to me in less than 5 business days from Ohio, so they are relatively quick and great customer service as well, just like eD.

I was looking at the A3-300 but I am worried that it will be overkill in my smallish room.
I am going to make a decision by the end of the week and I am really torn between the A2-300 and the SVS. I just want that deep low bass for movies! |

Quizno's...
Oops. Sorry wrong type of sub. ![]() I have the SVS PB12-NSD and think it has really good low-end response for both movies and music. I've been very happy with it. My only regret is that it did not come in a wood finish. The flat black looks okay, but I wish I would have went with the Plus for the Rosenut finish. ![]() |

If your speakers and subwoofer(s) are calibrated properly and you listen to them at a normal level, they should sound great in any room. There is no such thing as too much.

You can always calibrate a sub to play friendly with a room, so it should not matter between the two. Any sub will be limited as it will interact with the room's boundaries. They are both built very well. I think this comes down to a matter of cost. The SVS sub with probably run a bit higher. I think the driver on the A3-300 is bigger, so that should be considered a plus for it as well. The builds for both are great and their production is very similiar. If the price is close, you may want to consider the eD sub, even though I love my PC12-NSD SVS sub!

Now you have the choice between the A5-350 and the A3-300. Poor you.
