I've been using a Rocketfish HDMI Cable since I bought my setup. I had it plugged into my PS3 directly to my TV. Lately I began noticing that the 3D symbol had a line coming down it like a no smoking sign(without the circle)
![]() ![]() I also noticed that my TV was not acknowledging the connection, as before it said HDMI 4 on the source menu, and now it was dull(the way it looks when nothings connected). I luckily had a cheap DYNEX HDMI Cable I had recently bought from Best Buy on hand, opened it up and immediately the horrible left sided screen edge breakup was gone. the line on the 3D symbol is still there when I go into the 3D Menu but the the 3D works but still looks kinda "interlaced" instead of sharp like you'd expect from 3DBD and also my regular TV/cable image looks REALLY soft with the DYNEX Cable connected ![]() I'm guessing this is a cable problem, but I'm not sure...as I'm new to this-High Definition Television/Blu-Rays, I was hoping maybe some of you who seem to be very well versed in this Technology could offer an opinion on what you think is going on and how I might proceed ![]() ![]() |

I think you need to find out if the problem is from the source or the output. It sounds like you have other HDMI cables/equipment connected to your TV if you're using number 4 for the PS3. I'd remove everything and turn everything off apart from the TV and PS3.
Use the set-up options on the PS to double-check your settings are correct. Then start at HDMI 1 and check each cable one at a time and put them in a 'good pile' then use a working cable and go through the connections on the TV. If you need to replace HDMI cables just buy the length you need at the cheapest price, there won't be any difference in quality unless you need to unplug the cable a lot (the cheaper ones won't have the higher build quality of the more expensive cables). Double-check your settings on your PS3 and then check each HDMI lead and input on your TV. Holding down the power button the the PlayStation resets the video settings so it's worth double-checking.
