Anyone else notice the bad cover art some of Sony's movies are? They seem to be using the second art cover and not the original. Movies like Flatliners, Patriot, Cruel Intentions, Fifth Element, to name a few. I prefer the old overs that looked like the movie poster.

I could swear that the Fifth Element cover is one of the alternate movie posters. Granted, it's been what? 11 years since that movie was in theaters? My memory may be faulty, but it makes sense. I seriously doubt any company would spend the money to re-create all new cover art, etc. Better to stick with old stock images already in the catalog.

I was thinking about this yesterday. The Terminator 2 art is just a giant pixelated image of Arnold whatshisfacer with the T2 logo. It looks horrible! I thought I bought some VHS tape at first : p

I miss the originals. Can you imagine when Starwars finally gos Blu. The original theatrical poster with Luke and his light sabre pointed up in the sky and Leia clutching him (gross, they're brother and sister). I miss the older posters. They should use that as cover art.

How often do people look at the cover art? 5 seconds before watching a movie? I don't care about cover art. the only thing I really llok at is the title on the spine when it's in my cabinet.

I still like to look at the cover art. Besides, it's the cover that attracts the eye when you're about to purchase the movie. Or it may even peak your interest into even picking up the the case just to look.

I hate the swoosh on Disney Blu Ray's. I hope when the animated classics start to arrive they start to make full use of the cover for art.

Thank you Dark prince for saying what i wanted to but forgot!
That giant Swoosh is on too many releases now. But I can't really say i'm surprised. I remember when DVDs first came out there was tons of crap on them saying "all digital audio and video" "remastered video!" It's necessary I suppose. |

When Disney first starte releasing DVD they had this ugly arch thing that went across the top of the cover art. I was glad when they stopped. I guess it is something they use to try to distinguish themselves from other companies.

Every post - from the case, to the cover to the box art. You always say who cares and blah blah. So what DO you care about? Just the disk? If you don't care about the entire package, then why are you here? Why waste the money. Why not just bittorrent your movies. Might save yourself some dough. |

They tend to shuffle cover art on titles about every 5 years or so, adjusting noggin exposure to who is more popular at the time
And it gets uglier, and more rushed every time they do it. I wish for the 80s when there were piles of actual drawn, painted posters |

I want to go back to '82 just like Uncle Rico... The movie companies should use the original movie poster as cover art for the blu-ray, would looks so sweet. How about the original movie poster for the blu-ray cover for Blade Runner or how about the original movie poster for the blu-ray cover for Batman Begins... wold be awesome, sweet, heck yeah...
