It's a nice living room set up. Did you just start getting interested and investing in your equipment for your living room? I only ask as to find out more of your set-up and future intentions, etc....

Welcome by the way!

i have always been into it.. but never got serious about till now..
for the past almost 6 years i was running a front l/c/r plus sub.. on hard wood floor.. before that i just ran a 2.1

now that i moved to my new place.. i have the opportunity to do it right.. my rcvr suports 6.1 but i have no idea how to turn it on.. i think the only movie i have in 6.1 is Gladiator..

im currently happy with my set up.. with the exception of my sub and my rcvr (no hdmi input/output)

but my plans are to get a new sub.. thinking of going with either a single
pb10nsd or a single a2-300,, but my future sub plan is to have duals.. so whatever is more cost affective. i just have a lot of volume to fill.. thanks to the vaulted ceiling...

so future endeavors... new sub,, new rcvr,, then second sub(if needed).

Running wires is never fun haha I just got through stage one of my wire management. It works but it is still not what I want it to look like but it will do for now. Welcome to the forum! You got a nice space to work with in your home.

IMO, if you are on a limited budget and need to obtain a better receiver that at least provides you with HDMI and the availability to decode the higher audio codecs, I'd think about an Onkyo 606 for it's cost effectiveness and bang for the buck. But there are other receivers out there too, however I can't speak for them, as I have not owned one of them.

For a sub, I feel strongly saying that a single ED A2-300 should do nicely in filling that room with bass. With that kind of room, you should think about acoustical treatments and definitely sub placement to increase it's performance further. Again, just my opinion and some advise. Good luck and keep up the good work.

thanks... i will keep this thread up to date.. with thoughts and actions... and pics ofcourse..

i am looking forward to the subs though.... but i did read somewhere that the svs is the only true proffessionally tested sub out of the 2.. and that the a2-300 struggles the closer it gets to 20hz.. since i havent heard one i dont know if this is true..

That is getting towards the high end of subs in my opinion. That is a great sub for sure, and if you got the coin, then by all means go for it. I also agree to wait for something that you want instead of settling now. You'll keep yourself from buying another sub shortly hereafter.
