so I bought a screen on ebay, which I measured my wall to meet the specifications for beforehand, but it arrived today and it is bigger than listed by about 15" -- so I look on the item page and I notice the specifications listed are for the "viewing area" the actual specifications arent listed. furthermore the seller states he doesn't offer a refund and basically tells me i'm out of luck and that even if I were to ship it back to him, the shipping cost will cost the entire screens price, (guess he was only able to ship it to me for cheap because of a deal with fed-ex?)
Am I shit out of luck? I opened a pay pal claim for 'significently different as described' but does the whole 'viewing area' thing make me the loser? |

I would guess you are out of luck. Screens are advertised based on their viewing dimensions, not the size of the actual unit. In addition if the item specifications listed 15" as the viewing area then the item is not different than described.

The seller did nothing wrong here. He should not have to accept the return and have the money taken from him. There is nothing wrong with the item. Everyone just needs to learn to read everything and make sure of their purchase. That is why they have the "Commit to buy" button you have to click on. |

I agree the seller isn't in the wrong, so shouldn't be required to take it back, nor should he receive a negative feedback.
If I were in this position, I'd realize my mistake, and then try to sell it on Craigslist, to at least get something back for it. |

To the OP: Is there no way for you to cut the screen to fit, or is this like a pull-down screen or something similar? I take it this is not simply screen material that you were going to mount on a frame of some type? |

Yeah, the seller did nothing wrong. The OP should have read the description properly the first time, and then asked for the dimensions that he wanted/needed. I don't see why the seller should get screwed here. Nothing he listed was inaccurate or deceiving.
