February 2014 50 Movie Challenge

Since no one else created the thread in time, I thought I'd just go ahead and do it.

Just track the movies you watch.

• We have 10 categories, but you can subsitute different ones for up to two categories.
• 50 movies is the goal (5 from each category), but based on your own time and situation you can shoot for more or less, so we have different levels from Bronze to Platinum:
  60 Movies - Platinum
  50 Movies - Gold
  40 Movies - Silver
  30 Movies - Bronze
• If you're going to repost your entire list each time, please hide it under spoiler tags (and I also delete my previous one when I do to keep the thread tidy)
• If you are going to post pictures for the films (poster art or bluray covers, for example) please try not to use GIANT pictures, and if there are tons of them, again - please hide under spoilers

I cant believe I forgot Oscar Best Picture winners! I was thinking those werent until March, but didnt stop to realize theyre on the second day of March, so yeah we should do it this month.
Ok Im replacing Sports movies with that. of course anyone who wants to do sports can swap it out for another one.

and yes, full wrestling ppv's on dvd or bd would count.under non-fiction

Sweet! My first one could already count as that, as it won best foreign language film.

I almost tried something a little different this month but didn't - maybe next month? I was thinking for categories do 5 movies from each studio: Disney (and its subsidiaries Touchstone, Hollywood, etc), WB, Fox, Paramount, Sony, Universal, Dreamworks, Lionsgate/Summit, MGM, and then miscellaneous for the smaller independent labels. Thoughts?

Oh my bad, i was thinking the Oscars where in late February, you can do whatever then, but i guess it's not a bad idea to make people watch some Best Picture winners before the Oscars rather then after.

I'm substituting two of my categories. Sports for Foreign & Non Fiction for Oscar Winners. Sports films is one of my least favorite genres…and I don't watch many Non Fiction. Also for those that watch a lot of shows, I think two episodes of a show should count as one film. I know I'll probably be watching season 1 & 2 of Game of Thrones this month to get me in the mood for season 3 on Blu-ray.

Cinemaphile actually already had Oscar winners as one of the main categories in place of Sports, so you don't need to switch that one out, in case there was a 3rd category you didn't like.
