Default bad cable?

is it possible for a sub cable to go bad? i know its possible but has anyone ever heard of it? cuz it happend to me... bought a new velodyne cht-15 and was putting it through its paces and whammo... thought i blew the sub... but turns out the cable was bad... anyone know why it would stop working...? the cable i mean it was just a monoprice rg6 cable with rca ends on it...

A subwoofer cable can go bad because of two reasons:
  1. Usually the RCA connectors are soldered to the cable. If the contact is broken, the cable will not work.
  2. The RG6 type sub cables have solid core. If the cable is bent too much, it is possible for the solid core to be broken.
