Default Possible Blu-ray movies?

anyone know how the studios decide what movies to transfer to bluray? Iīve seen many obscure movies on blu so it canīt just be that they think itīll sell well. The reason Iīm wondering about this is that thereīs lots of movies I want on bluray, like Collateral but thereīs no word on it or what might come to blu and I donīt wanna buy the dvd and then buy the bluray when/if it comes..
