Default "I Am Legend" CGI Remastered?

I sort of love rewatching this movie from time to time, but it's hard to deny how dated the CGI looks, so couldn't they possibly improve it to make it more realistic-ish?

With the technology now it's definitely possible. I'd adore to watch a tweaked version at the cinema.

Dated? Even when I first seen it in theaters when it came out I always thought the CGI looked iffy. It's not that it's "dated", it's just it was never that great to begin with. I still think it's a decent movie, though.

God, I had forgotten how AWFUL the CGI Jabba was in the original version of the 1997 Star Wars release.

My favorite book of all-time, sullied by three movies officially based on it. I'm sure they'll try again at some point.

The make-up tests for the Ridley Scott version from the 1990s are 100 times better than the CGI in the final product.

I never understood why cgi was used for the creatures, actors in simple make-up would have served the film better, it was completely unnecessary.

And I like bits and pieces of the first film and bits and pieces of second film. I hate the Will Smith version with a passion.

They had some awesome make-up tests on what was going to be used but the studio ****ed it all up by switching to atrocious unfinished looking CGI:

I liked I Am Legend, crap CGI aside. Just a shame it's such a blight on an otherwise very good movie with a terrific performance by Will Smith.

What was it that Richard Matheson said? Hollywood keeps optioning his book but never bothers to actually adapt it?

And the studio didn't want to spend 100 million on it, so they spent 200 million for the turd we ended up getting.
