Default LiquidIce moves to Milwaukee

So I've made my move back home, from Ohio back to Wisconsin. Fun thing about moving is resetting up my entire home theater. It has been quite the journey, and what you see is what I've settled on. The difficult task has been getting close to the tv, and a balance of room acoustics. I wish I could be closer to the tv, but then I'd be in the null of the room for bass. I believe to have found the perfect balance in audio and video. Also for some of you who may really know me, I also usually put style before functioning. This sometimes hurts my setup as I have an eye for aesthetics, but once again, I think I've found a balance. Painting has helped this immensely. Anyways, here is just a teaser, there are many more pics to come, before and after pics. Enjoy, and please comment on what you see, good or bad, I love feedback.

Before moving in

after

before paint

after paint

The three tone grey looks awesome. Hopefully you have some heavy curtains for that slider!

looks amazing!!! id have to say though, that if you painted all the trim white it would "pop" a lot more and be a real nice improvement. just a thought, otherwise looks amazing!!!

Wow...that is a lot better looking than what you had going. The overall feel of the room works well.

Very nicely done. It's amazing how the room itself has so much to do with adding to the quality of a home theater setup, especially in terms of atmosphere and asthetics. Much more open now!

actually it is only two tones of grey. The light from the lamps and the window kind of throws that off in the photo. The grey behind the tv was chosen for my bias lighting. The large wall with the small window is the only wall with the dark grey.

Wish I could move my TT, but the RCA cables are not long enough. If I could extend the RCA's, I would love to put the TT where that vase is with the reeds sticking out. Can I just cut out the RCA's and put on some longer ones?

I'd love to wall mount the plasma, but then I'd be another foot away from the display! The center doesn't block the image at all. I'll post pics of that sometime, also I have a pic I'll post soon of the distance between the back wall and the plasma. Took me 4 hours to do cable management. A HTPC will do that do you.

Yes, the white trim would make it pop, but then again, the wood trim brings a certain balance to modernism. Perfect example, look at the FORCE's choice of a countertop for his kitchen. In all that modernism, the counter brings a certain balance to everything. My windows will be covered soon, so the only wood trim will be the floor trim. No biggy there.

I knew your room would look awesome ice. I love how you are so aware aesthetically of how you want your HT to look like the perfect balance of function and fashion. I think you did a great job!

Incredible Job,to say the least. In comparing the Before and After pics it would appear as if you were glancing thru a magazine.

What You Have Accomplished is Simply Amazing you have taken this space and made it appear to Come Alive with its look and feel. The atmosphere it exudes states Class with a Capital "C".

I must admit you are an Extremely Talented Individual when it comes to asthetics.

What're you, nuts?

Where in Milwaukee are you, Liquid? Feel free to PM me if you prefer. I'm actually out in Waukesha and work downtown.

Place looks great. Wish I wasn't so lazy- we'd do some painting in our living room.

I don't have much to contribute other than aesthetics, so maybe refinish the wood trim to a darker finish to match the floors? Regardless it looks great, ice!

Nice setup there liquidice, seems like you have a big enough screen to be able to hang it on the wall and not have the additional 1 ft really make a difference. I am also from wisconsin, Kenosha to be exact. Now living in Costa Rica. Been here for going on 4 years. Still miss Kenosha and the SPOT hamburgers. Keep them pics a comin´.
